While in the area recently, I toured the University of Utah (or “The U” as they call it):
A few takeaways from my visit:
- Surrounded by snow-covered mountains, you’d never guess the University of Utah is only a quick 10-minute drive or light rail trip from downtown Salt Lake City. The campus gives the feeling of being perched on a mountainside, with beautiful vistas throughout.
- The school is quickly becoming a strong alternative to California public schools with great WUE (Western Undergraduate Exchange) aid for students with a 3.3 GPA or higher for all academic majors.
- With nationally recognized programs in Business, Computer Science, Gaming (Entertainment Arts & Engineering), and Nursing, there are a wide variety of majors to choose from.
- Our tour guides raved about the easy access to mountain sports (only a 30-minute drive), a strong sense of school spirit, and the vibrant “MUSS” (Mighty Utah Student Section) at football games, winning awards from ESPN and Taco Bell for its liveliness. (Who knew Taco Bell rated such things? Previous winners include Penn State and Texas A & M)
- Interested in Fall 2024 admissions? Be sure to apply by December 1, 2023 to be considered for all merit and need-based aid.
I help students and their families achieve balance and confidence throughout the college admission process as they discover and apply to colleges that best reflect their personal, academic and financial needs and goals.
