An hour south of Corvallis, I arrived in Eugene and stop #3 on my Oregon college tour - the University of Oregon. The University of Oregon is another school I’ve been recommending for years, for its rah-rah sports culture and incredible facilities, as well as its honors college.
We had a great tour - possibly one of the best college tours I’ve taken. The welcome center is worth a stop with mock dorm room set-ups and a large theatre for admissions presentations. Our tour guide raved about his honors college experience, which students can elect to apply to as part of their initial application. He noted that the campus population was made up of students from across the globe, including quite a few from California leading some people to jokingly refer to the university as “UC Oregon”.
I’ve been impressed with the University of Oregon already this application cycle. While they don’t have a rolling admissions program, they’ve been getting back to students quickly. One of my seniors received a decision (acceptance, yay!) within a week of applying.
