An Important Reminder from an Unexpected Source

As I begin to dive into college lists with juniors, I'm reminded of the list linked below that comes out annually from Harvard Law School. It details the colleges their most recent incoming class of law students attended. The list is extensive (117 schools) and a great nudge that where a student goes to college is not as important as what a student does in college (taking advantage of resources, achieving strong grades, making connections, etc.)

I had a similar experience in my graduate program at the Stanford School of Education - the variety of schools attended by my fellow master's students was impressive.

As Frank Bruni's book title proclaims, "where you go is not who you'll be" (also a good reminder for seniors as early decisions come out this month).
