Uncertainties for High School Students due to COVID-19

High school students, we understand how difficult this time is for you. Fortunately, colleges recognize this and are making changes to ease the stress of the admissions process.

As mentioned in this article, Oregon State and Case Western have moved to a test-optional policy for the class of 2021. I have also learned that Tufts University and the University of Oregon will join the ranks of universities practicing test optional admissions policies. Finally, Harvard has announced that it will not penalize students who receive Pass/Fail grades due to school closures or are unable to retake the SAT or ACT for a better score.

Hopefully, the silver lining that will emerge from this scary, unsettling period of time is that universities will continue to find ways to reduce the anxiety of college admissions for their students.
